Modelled on the loveable loo by humanure guru Joe Jenkins this is a standard bucket system which beats a long drop hands down. All waste; urine and faeces is collected in a bucket and covered with sawdust. When the bucket is full it is emptied into an exterior compost bin. This is a simple, cost effective black water solution.

This is the Humus loo with the added advantage of urine separation. Urine separation ensures the smell which can happen when urine and faeces are collected together is eliminated. Waste is separated at source: urine is collected, diluted and used as fertiliser; faeces is covered in sawdust and emptied into an exterior compost bin. This is another simple, cost effective black water solution.

Kiwi Pioneer has developed its own flout (floating outlet) chamber for dosing wastewater disposal systems: trenches, beds or irrigation fields. Dosing ensures the treated wastewater discharge is spread over the entire application system. If you have fall at your site a flout is an ideal way to achieve this without the use of power. This tank has the added advantage of being able to be buried.

The grey water filter captures large solids from the grey water stream such as hair or food scraps before they go to the treatment system. A filter is superior to a grease trap as grease traps can work like mini septic tanks and putrefy water.
